Summit is a division of The Wakefield Corporation, the premier commercial drywall contractor in East Tennessee. The Wakefield Corporation was founded in 1986 based on one principle and one principle only—Dedicated to Excellence. Summit has subsequently embraced this principle.

In 1998, The Wakefield Corporation was introduced to an exciting, innovative system for the construction of steel stud panels and trusses. This led to the formation of Summit, a division dedicated to the fabrication of panelized walls and to the installation of composite metal decks. The division also assists clients with metal trusses. Since its inception, Summit has built numerous projects throughout the area, as well as projects in other states and other countries.
