National Merit Award

The Merit Award is ABC’s National Award of Excellence. The Excellence in Construction Awards competition is ABC’s nationwide program “to publicly recognize quality and innovations in merit shop construction and to honor all members of the team: contractor, owner, and architect/engineer.” The award recognizes the “best of the best” in the construction industry.

In 2004, The Wakefield Corporation was presented the ABC National Merit Award. The project recognized was the Tusculum College Residence Halls in Greeneville, Tennessee. This high honor was a first for any member of the East Tennessee Chapter of ABC, and remains so today.
